The Objective of this Forum is to:

1.  “Advocate for the achievement of Gender Equality and Women Empowerment”

As the biggest Service Organisation of the World we can make a difference in providing women and girls with equal access to education, health care, decent work, and representation in political and economic decision-making processes which can fuel sustainable economies and benefit societies and humanity at large as per the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal n° 5.

2. “Unite without uniformity and diversity without fragmentation”

The ISAAME Constitutional Area is the most diverse from an ethnical and religious point of view and as per the Lions Clubs International purposes we have the duty to set the forum for the open discussion of all matters of public interest; provided, however, that aspects related to partisan politics and sectarian religion are not to be debated by any Lion and/or LEO members. This will enable the ISAAME Lions and LEOs to shift the focus from unity based on mere tolerance to a more complex unity based on understanding that difference enriches human interactions.

3. “Share your stories”

This ISAAME Forum wants to create a platform for all Lions & LEOs in the ISAAME Constitutional Area to share the success stories of their projects and services promoting our Motto: “WE SERVE”

4. “Beat diabetes

Diabetes is a chronic disease that occurs either when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin or when the body cannot effectively use the insulin it produces. WHO (World Health Organisation) projects that diabetes will be the 7th leading cause of death by 2030. Diabetes is treatable. Diabetes can be controlled and managed to prevent complications. Increasing access to diagnosis, self-management education and affordable treatment are vital components of the response. Efforts to prevent and treat diabetes will be important to achieve the global Sustainable Development Goal 3 target of reducing premature mortality from noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) by one-third by 2030.  Lions & LEOs in the ISAAME Constitutional Area will be working very closely with WHO increasing awareness about the rise in diabetes, and its staggering burden and consequences, in particular in low-and middle-income countries; trigger a set of specific, effective and affordable actions to tackle diabetes and actively participate in the launching of the first Global report on diabetes, which will describe the burden and consequences of diabetes and advocate for stronger health systems to ensure improved surveillance, enhanced prevention, and more effective management of diabetes.

 5. “Make Lions & LEOs turn Green”

This year’s Forum is going to be the most Environmentally Friendly one ever!

“Printed program that I’m going to throw away at the end? NO THANKS, I’ll use the Forum App!

“Bin my note paper, plastic bottles and empty coffee cup! NO WAY, not me – I’ll use the recycling bins provided.”

Lions & LEOs of ISAAME… we’re already collectively flying tens of thousands of miles to get here so let’s do what we can while we’re at the Forum to look after our planet for the next generation of Lions & Leos.
